Having my kids at New Life Christian Academy has been such a tremendous blessing. The only schooling that my three younger children have known, up until this last year, had been homeschool. I was nervous that a move into a private school format would be overwhelming for them. I love that the transition into NCLA was not the enormous shock I had feared, due to the fact that it is fashioned in such a way that the best parts of homeschooling and public education format are blended together to make a fun, structured environment for my kids to learn and build character, with a primary focus on who they are in Christ.
As a parent, it gives me great peace that my children are met where they are academically. Level learning allows them to struggle and excel at their own pace. When concepts are difficult, they are not shamed or just pushed through. On the other side, when concepts are easily grasped they are not held back.
I can also take comfort in knowing that their minds are being filled with the knowledge and love of God as they go about their studies throughout the day. The Teachers are loving but firm. They have a deep desire to come alongside me, to mold and shape my children into men and women of character. I never saw myself as a homeschool mom, however I knew that for my kids’ needs to be fulfilled and my goals as a parent to be accomplished, we needed something different than what public schools had to offer. NCLA has been a timely answer to prayer and I am excited to see my older boys have the opportunity to benefit from the school, as well.
