(Director)
Johanna Isome serves as the Director of New Life Christian Academy. She brings over 27 years of experience in preschool education and 17 years in elementary education. She holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and Curriculum Design and is certified in ESL, Gifted Education, Website Design, and as a Reading Specialist. She has served as Director of the Academy for the past two years.
Johanna believes a strong school must support both academic excellence and spiritual growth. She is committed to providing a Christ-centered environment for students from first grade through high school where they are known, challenged, and supported at every stage of development. Her background in curriculum design allows her to ensure instruction is thoughtful, structured, and responsive to student needs across all grade levels.
As a leader, Johanna values clear communication and partnership with families. She believes parents play a vital role in their child’s education and works to create a culture where families feel informed, respected, and involved. Her goal is for every student to grow in confidence, character, and academic ability while feeling safe and cared for each day. She considers it a privilege to walk alongside families during these formative years.
If you’d like, we can trim it slightly or add one short personal detail to make it feel even more relatable while still keeping that strong sense of trust.
Lacey Park
(Finance/
Administrative Assistant)
Hello! My name is Lacey Park. My role here at New Life Christian Academy is Finance/Administrative Assistant. My favorite part of working in this position is working the numbers and parent communications. It has been a pleasure to get to know each family. My goal in taking the job is to help to continue to make the school a reality for years to come. My favorite part of spending time with the students is speaking into their lives. I look forward to greeting them in the mornings and sending them off in the afternoons. Their personalities and the quirky things they say, make my heart happy. My hope is for them to know how much they are loved and that they have been created with a purpose.
When I’m not at school I enjoy spending time with my adult children, reading a good book, I cherish quiet mornings with coffee, music blasting by the afternoon, camping, being in the mountains and spending time with my husband.

Kaylee Varble
(Upper Elementary Teacher)
My name is Kaylee Varble, and I am so honored to be the upper elementary teacher at New Life Christian Academy. I recently got married, and I’m in my second year of teaching. One of the most rewarding parts of being here is seeing students grow academically, especially those who arrive needing extra support. I’ve seen their progress firsthand, and while I’m grateful for the guidance of our incredible director and team, I’m honored to be part of that journey.
I support my students both academically and personally by being consistent. I believe that if I promise something, I must follow through. Trust forms when my students know I keep my word. In our classroom, faith plays a big role, especially on Think-It Thursday, when we dive into philosophical questions. I don’t just teach what we believe—I guide them in understanding why we believe it, encouraging them to research and compare sources so they can discover truth for themselves.
The best part of my day is seeing my students’ personalities come alive, their humor, their curiosity, it’s a joy. I can’t wait to see all the growth and discoveries this year will continue to bring!

Kate Walker
(Jr. High and High School Teacher)
Kate Walker brings more than twenty years of teaching experience to New Life Christian Academy, drawing from a wide range of multi-grade homeschool instruction. Her background includes guiding her own children through homeschool graduation and seeing them pursue technical college, four-year universities, and military service.
Kate’s teaching philosophy centers on a simple but profound belief: we are not educating children—we are preparing future adults. In her multi-level junior high and high school classroom, she strives to equip students with the ability to think abstractly, evaluate evidence, and pursue truth in a world that constantly tells them what to think. Her goal is to help students learn how to think—developing the skills and confidence to engage meaningfully and powerfully in the adult world.
One of Kate’s favorite roles at New Life Christian Academy is teaching the character-building series. The program begins with Civil Discourse, helping students learn to approach difficult conversations with both truth and love. Currently, students are working through Rules for Freedom, a course that explores how the personal “rules” we adopt shape our success and ultimately lead to true freedom in Christ.
In every subject she teaches, Kate’s desire is the same: to help students walk out their faith in practical, everyday ways that reflect Jesus and draw others to Him.
